Mission Improbable is a cute, fun science fiction adventure guaranteed to generate at least a few chuckles, if not outright laughter.

The main character, Carrie, reminded has a big heart but a short attention span. The main fixtures in her life are her dog Rogue (proving beauty is in the eye of the beholder) and her cat Toodles. Keeping jobs and relationships going - not her strong point. On the other hand, she has an extremely varied, if not complementary skill set.

Needless to say, she not only lands a job as a customer service supervisor in a call center but also, by a series of strange coincidences gets hired as a conflict resolution agent for the Transgalactic Council. Carrie has absolutely no idea what the latter job entails, but finds out rather quickly when she and a visiting coworker get transported to another world through a portal under the sink.

This is where the real fun begins. Carrie is supposed to settle a conflict between the mechanical placktoids (imagine giant aggressive office supplies) and the oootoon, a mysterious mass organism which looks and tastes like custard.

Carrie and her kleptomaniac coworker Dave have their work cut out for them. The conflict must be successfully resolved if they wish to live - and return home in time to feed Rogue and Toodles.

Not too short, and not too long, Mission Improbable is a fun escapist read, perfect for when you want to relax, but don’t have a lot of free time. No graphic violence and no sexual references make it appropriate for a wide audience.

I can’t wait to see what Carrie faces during her next adventure.

I received a copy of Mission Improbable from the publisher and in exchange for an honest review.

In the deepest reaches of the galaxy there are places and beings that aren’t impossible, just very, very improbable.

Carrie Hatchett is a low-achieving daydreamer, and the last person on Earth who should be resolving disputes for the Transgalactic Council. After providing a good home for her butt-ugly dog and psychotic cat, her biggest challenge in life is to avoid being fired, again.

But a strange green mist sucks her beneath her kitchen sink, and an unusual clerical error leads to an offer she foolishly doesn’t refuse.

In settling a conflict between the mechanical placktoids and the mysterious oootoon, Carrie reveals a threat to the entire galaxy.
