Murder returns to South Cove in Cahoon's Tea Cups and Carnage
Tea Cups and Carnage by Lynn Cahoon Kensington Books Mystery & Thrillers Pub Date 07 Jun 2016 Review Lynn Cahoon's Tourist Trap Mysteries continue to delight, providing readers with fresh fun mysteries filled with the colorful characters fans have come to love. In Tea Cups and Carnage, Jill Gardener, owner of Coffee, Books, and More is drawn into helping solve a murder linked to the town's newest resident. Kathi Corbin, a charming Texan plans to open a specialty shop, Tea Hee. Things begin to go awry when Kathi's sister Ivy arrives. Not long afterwards, their cousin is found dead at the local "no tell" motel - and Kathi is the prime suspect. On top of everything, an unknown biker is terrorizing residents. The only thing that I didn't like about Tea Cups and Carnage was the subplot of the missing check. Jill suspects her employees, who have been nothing but loyal, despite the bank having a new teller who obviously doesn't know what she's doing. (Cahoon makes this VERY obvious) As the teller is clearly making mistakes, why does Jill take forever to consider that the mixup just might have been a bank error? This issue was just jarring enough to keep me from being 100% involved in the story. Rather than simply suspending my disbelief, I kept questioning Jill's judgement. The novel would have been much better if this aspect of the plot was minimized. On the whole Tea Cups and Carnage is an enjoyable cozy and a nice addition to Cahoon's Tourist Trap mystery series. 4/5 I received a copy of Tea Cups and Carnage from the publisher and netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review. --Crittermom Description The quaint coastal town of South Cove, California, is all abuzz about the opening of a new specialty shop, Tea Hee.
