The Sorcerer's Daughter is a stand alone novel set after The Darkling Child. Personally I feel The Sorcerer's Daughter is a far better novel than its predecessor. I was drawn into the plot, particularly in the later half of the book. The Leofur/Imric storyline is a fascinating one. I did have one problem with the novel, and that is the casual way in which characters were killed. There often wasn't enough of a connection for the deaths to have any kind of emotional impact on the reader.
